Shaun Majumder Hate Tour

Synopsis

New Shows added! April 7 in Labrador West and April 14 in Corner Brook

Shaun Majumder is bringing his full-throttle, no-holds-barred HATE TOUR to his home province of Newfoundland and Labrador this April.

Originally from Burlington NL, (population 350), this Award-winning TV and film actor/writer/comedian spent seventeen seasons with the CBC's This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and he's hosted Just for Laughs for three seasons. He's starred in his own comedy specials on both CBC and Comedy Central and his HBO Documentary Every Word is Absolutely True about his life and career aired in 2016 and garnered rave reviews.

He's also starred in the Farrelly Brothers’ Fox comedy Unhitched, Cedric the Entertainer Presents, ABC's Detroit 187 and NBC's The Firm. In Canada, he's starred in the shows Hatching Matching and Dispatching, Robson Arms, Less Than Kind, Republic of Doyle, and Da Kink in my Hair.

Majumder is joined by St. John’s comedian and good friend Matt Wright.

“I don’t want to explain too much,” Majumder comments. “It’s about the time we live in with all the divisive nature of politics and society. The theme of the tour is HATE.”

Review for Shaun Majumder's HATE TOUR
If anyone could tackle themes of intolerance and prejudice and make them hilarious instead of depressingly distressing it's Shaun Majumder. From growing up as one of the only brown kids in a remote village in northwest Newfoundland to the vitriol he's faced when his online satire is misinterpreted by unironic rednecks, the beloved Canadian comic's HATE Tour charts his own experiences with racism and how he's fought back with humour instead of angry rhetoric. Few comedians are as skilled at reading a room and surfing the wave of audience reaction, and this show features some of his strongest, smartest material to date as he takes the pulse of the current zeitgeist while poking it in the ribs at the same time.
